As the title says this will be a thread for the European Championship that starts tomorrow and is being held in Lithuania.

It should be a good tournament, quite a few good teams, including my own country, Serbia, so I will definitely be watching. I know it's a bothering to watch games from Europe if you're in the US or Australia, but I think it will be worth watching. I mean, after all, I stay awake late nights to watch Warriors. Also, it's a lockout, so not much to watch or read about at the moment, so for any true basketball fan. this will be great.
Of course, you can also watch it from the aspect of scouts, and look from some interesting players that you would like to se in Warriors' jersey.

I'll try to give my thoughts of some players and teams, depending of how many games I will be able to watch. Though, I'm certain even now that I will watch all games Serbia will play.

Here's the link for the official site:

You can check the rosters there and see when the games are being played.

Go Serbia!

Good game and a great win to open the tournament. =D>

It was obvious that Serbia is a better team, but since it was a first game, I think it's tolerable that we allowed Italy to come back in to the game after 17 point lead. In the end 80-68 was good, but I think the difference is bigger than the result shows.

Teodosic (Teo) had a good game, 15 points, 8 assists, though Serbia is really a team at this point, everyone contributes. I would still like to see what Teo could do in the NBA.

Go Serbia.

yeah, they were playing around the same time as the spain game... I didn't see it, but i saw a link to the serbia game around that time.

i was fortunate enough to watch the Spain game before work. They played a bit sloppy, couldn't hit any 3's (though neither could poland).

In a bit less than hour and a half we have these matches:
Portugal vs. Spain
Latvia vs. Serbia

And some 15 minutes after these two will start matches between Bosnia & Herzegovina vs. Montenegro and Bulgaria vs. Belgium.

Serbia is actually not having any problems with Latvia, though it might not look like that when you look at the result. Our coach, Ivkovic, forced a substitutes for too much time so far. The first team is killing them.

Though, this is really strong competition, lockout allowed a lot of NBA stars to play for their national teams. Though, I don't know why Biedrins is not playing against Serbia now.

I think he's not at the tournament at all. Don't what are the reasons, though.

I think we should name this the Guybrush and Crackerz thread!

anyways, your serbs and my spanish are both 2-0... Glad that tomorrow's games are both on around the time I wake up. Spain should beat Deng and Britain, while you guys should easily handle Israel.

Well, you're still better than what we're doing with Israel. It was like they didn't want to play any defense in the first half, so we're actually behind by 5 points. Got so pissed while watching first half of the game...luckily for me so is our coach and he looked like he's ready to explode. I know I wouldn't want to be in that locker room after the half. :)
